The joy of coming to a new place is getting to meet beautiful new people.  We have come to love this family and they have truly become our friends, and not just because they keep us supplied with Nabisco products…..how tickled was I when they asked me to capture their family through my photography.   We started out with an urban session…I love it when a family wants to do something urban…so fun for me!!  And then we made ourselves up one of the beautiful canyons near where we live….I haven’t done as much exploring here as I would like to and I love it when I get to travel someplace new…..Thank you “C” family….I had such an enjoyable couple of hours with you…and I enjoyed so much feeling the love in your family….you are all just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside!!!

Being a photographer sure has it perks…..and this is one of them!  I get to take beautiful images of my children.  We get to do some commercial for work for two amazing lines of clothing Belle Ame and Huggalugs.  This was shot at the end of the session and Hattie was all tuckered out….modeling is such hard work!

I am so lucky…I got to shoot another beautiful girl, and let me tell you she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.  This is Kaitlyn and have I so many amazing photos to share of her, but for today you are just going to get a few….so enjoy and keep checking back for more!!!

I was so lucky and got to go out one more time with Mary and her entourage…thank you Kenny for flying in from Texas so I could spend one more evening with my friends…and an extra bonus was I got to meet you!!!  I have already told you how talented Russ is, but now I can  add amazing scouter to his resume.  He found the most awesome place for us to shoot a downtown Salt Lake City Urban session.  I think this session rocked!!

I also loved this one in black and white.

Mary is on a plane, as I’m posting these, headed for Japan where she will be working for the next five months….and Kenny will fly off tomorrow for San Francisco.  I’m hoping that these beautiful images will be something they can carry with them until they are together again.

And my dear friend Russ…Love this one of you.  I will tell you this has to be the most serious crew I have ever worked with….they love their somber faces…and you know what I do too!!!

or do you like the black and white….I’ll let you decide.

And I had to put up one more of Jake…..I like you Jake because you like to have your picture taken, and that makes my job easy.  But, one of these days I will get that irresistible smile..promise!

Mary, Mary quite contrary……I remember when you were just a little girl.

Now you are a beautiful, young lady full of spirit and spunk and off having amazing adventures.

I had to show a pull back shot of this picture.  It was dark when this shot was taken, and I only used the available light at the monument.  The blue behind Mary is the sky….isn’t it amazing!!!  Oh and how could I forget, as I was attempting to get this shot I took my first real fall with my camera…I think I fell for a solid minute, but my camera didn’t get a  scratch.  Myself on the other hand….I ended up with quite a few, a twisted ankle and some bruised ribs and I had fun pulling rose thorns out of my backside.  But, I saved my camera…isn’t that what matters.

Mary with her dad Russ, who just happens to be one of the most talented people I know, and a very dear friend.  When you’re out enjoying this summer’s celebrations if you’re watching a parade you will be admiring the work of Russ.  He is responsible for the biggest and the grandest floats you will see…..all the winners.  He is absolutely amazing and uber creative…..I don’t know how he comes up with his ideas year after year!!!  Oh, and I did I mention that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his creativity….the list is endless.

So lets have a little vote….do you like this one better in color or black and white….leave a comment, everyone likes a little love!

I have more to share……so please keep checking back.  I want you to meet Russ.  I couldn’t have done this shoot without him.  He was my light guy…meaning he held my reflector for me.  We were losing our light fast, and he became pretty skilled boucing light for me.  Love you guys, I had a blast….and I can’t wait to see you again….Soon!!!

I can’t even tell you how excited I was about my senior shoot yesterday…..I got to shoot Linda Bastian’s boy…I mean Linda Barney’s boy…JARON!! You would think it was somebody famous, well truthfully it just might be somebody famous, Jaron is oh-so talented, and definitely headed for greatness!! But, I was excited because I got to see Linda, I can’t think of my childhood and not think of her, she was part of it on a daily basis….and my memories are amazing. Now let’s meet her son, drum roll please………………………………..

after we had done pictures they sang for me…..talk about heart melt moment.  They both have the most beautiful voices and they blended together only like a mother and son’s voice could….It was beautiful.  I knew that Linda had a gorgeous voice I can still remember when she sang the song “What I did for Love” from  A Chorus Line for our ninth grade graduation.  Jaron will be attending Weber State this fall on a four year vocal scholarship…….I’m telling you this boy can sing!!  (Linda I just had a funny flash back moment….remember when the two of us were asked to sing for stake conference and we got up there to do it and your eye wouldn’t stop twitching and we ended up laughing our way through the song….our mothers were so disappointed…LOL).

Thank you Jaron and Linda for letting me spend time with you yesterday and capture your beautiful spirits.  Linda what an amazing, likeable young man you have raised……It is evident that you are truly a beautiful mother.  Jaron you are going to go far….and I can’t wait for the day I’m in New York watching a broadway show and I can say….”I rember when I shot his senior pictures”.

I want to start this post by saying, “I love my job!!!”  How many people really get to say that?  I am so thankful for what I get to do.  I get to help others remember a memory…and make it just a little bit prettier.  My heart was filled with joy as I headed back to Idaho to shoot this wedding.  I was so  excited to be returning home, and knowing I would get to see old friends made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

There was joy and a feeling of love that was indescribable from the moment Randi and I walked through the door.  Emotions seemed to be on every-one’s shirt sleeves…but it was a good thing.  It was evident this was a match made in heaven.

This was the first look between Monica and Jesse it was the sweetest most tender moment, and I was blessed to be a part of it.

If you haven’t been over to our brand new [i do] wedding photography site you need to go over and see it.  We have a beautiful slide show on there of Monica and Jesse…the song it’s set to was part of their wedding.  Monica walked down the aisle to it sung by her cousin playing acoustic guitar…..it was soooooooo romantic, and yes I was crying.  They also danced to it for their first dance.

I also wanted to give a plug to Stephen Crow of Salon Salon and  and the Spa.  He did the bridal party and they looked absolutely stunning gorgeous!!!

Okay, I had a blast today…..haven’t got to shoot a senior in a while, and today made up for all that time I’ve had to wait.  I got to spend a few hours with Markel , her parents and her little sister.  It was so great….they were awesome to take me around and help me begin to explore this new place I live and find the fun nooks and crannies to shoot in.  I think we found some great places today.  Here are just a few…we are going back out in the morning and I’ll have lots more to post.  I just wanted to get a little something up tonight….hope you love these Markel…I do!!!
